Please pardon the dust…

I’m still fine-tuning some of the details, but my blog has a new look! It’s a subtle change, but I’ve decided to move away from the portfolio-style blog I was using to a more traditional blog layout. It just wasn’t working for me and where I want to take this site in the future. I felt like I was just re-posting content I post elsewhere on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. I’ll still share some of that here, but I’d like to share more of my thoughts and inspiration. So stay tuned, more to come! And thank you for following along!

This has been a cursed canvas. Everything I painted on it, I disliked. It’s had at least 4 or 5 attempts. I think I finally broke the spell.

I haven’t been true to myself lately, but this one was and is all me. “It all comes back” 16x20 acrylic on canvas.

I’m not even sure what I did here or how this one happened, except I started over a couple times with this canvas. Really liking the result. Calling this one “There was a time”. 12x12 acrylic on canvas.

"For now" 5x7" acrylic on canvas.
Woke up hating the painting I made last night and already painting over it. But I did finish this one, and I’m liking it…for now.

I’ve been getting into taking self-portraits lately (and portraits in general), mainly as a way to experiment with some ideas and play around with my camera. I feel a little silly and narcissistic, but hey, it’s practice. I’m still doing some editing of the shots, but you can see more from my camera Sunday funday here.
